Welcome to the start of your journey toward your most authentic self! I am here to guide you as you navigate your culture, relationships, and feelings of stuckness in your life. I am here to help you discover coping skills to manage overwhelming, anxious, and overpowering emotions. I understand that taking the first step can be difficult, but you can do it. You become my client, and I become a part of your support system.
I believe that you are unique so, together, we will create a personalized plan to support your mental health and your life goals. At the end of our journey together, you will leave with a better awareness of your emotions, an arsenal of tools for challenging times, and greater resiliency.
To achieve this, I use a combination of Emotion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Culturally Sensitive Counselling. I specialize in high functioning anxiety, depression, maternal narcissism, self-esteem issues, how to navigate relationships, negotiating with one’s culture, finding your identity, and immigration stress.
I am inherently driven to support your journey because I’ve been there myself. As an immigrant to Canada, I have had my feet in two cultures and struggled to find a place and role in my community. I understand what it’s like to want to fulfill cultural/familial responsibilities, while wanting to be independent, while managing work stress and gender roles. For years, it felt as though I had two identities and that I was not being my authentic self.
I have worked hard to live life authentically. I have learnt how to respect my heritage and culture while, at the same time, respecting myself and pursuing my individuality. Now, I have committed my life to supporting others in doing the same. This valuable first-hand experience has shaped me and I hope that my unique perspective will help bring insight and compassion to how I support you, on your unique journey.
