About me

Hi! My name is Zaina and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas. I specialize in working with those who are navigating Complex-PTSD, recovery from sexual violence and abuse, and folks from cultural minority populations looking to embrace identity. I recognize that trauma affects each person differently, which is why I tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique needs. My practice is rooted in a relational, decolonized & justice-oriented approach that focuses on establishing safety through creating a compassionate and empowering space.

I am a first-generation Indian American and that allows me to bring both my personal and professional insight into the cultural struggles that can shape one’s experiences and sense of self. My background in social work deepens my awareness of the oppressive systems that contribute to trauma. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and validated. Together, we work toward vulnerability, authenticity, and self-acceptance in a world that makes those qualities difficult to embrace.

You can expect a space in which you are given time to delve into the challenges you would like to prioritize- we go at your pace as I work to earn your trust and confidence. Typically, I begin by getting a sense of your goals for counseling and how my approach may support you along the way. Curiosity, warmth, and humor comprise a large part of my presence in the therapy space. E-mail me at contact@zainatherapy.com to schedule a consultation to see if we are a good fit!
