Whether you are a first- or second-generation immigrant or a TCK, I understand how living between multiple cultures can bring up conflicting feelings about your identity. We will work together to deconstruct shame and guilt surrounding topics that are difficult to talk about, whether anxiety, sex, identity, trauma, or experiences of physical or sexual abuse. I’m a queer-affirming therapist with experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. I welcome conversations about intersectionality, identity, and how our difference/sameness affect the work.
In our time together, we will build a trusting therapeutic relationship. I work primarily from a psychoanalytic and interpersonal lens, meaning we will look at how the unconscious manifests in your current patterns. We will also attend to the here-and-now of the therapy room, using the therapeutic relationship as a mirror for how you relate to others. Some clients choose to work more frequently (two or three times a week) to support deeper therapeutic work.
Our work will help you move away from a place of self-judgment toward curiosity and fascination with your inner world. I aim to help you transform even the most confusing, shameful, and frightening thoughts into sources of meaning and transformation. I often work with people who struggle with intrusive thoughts, sexual preoccupations, or compulsive patterns.
As a musician, I also work with artists, musicians, academics, and other creative professionals. The therapeutic space can help you deepen your artistic voice — we will explore how to channel your multidimensional self into your art.
