About me

Hi, I’m Vidhi. I was born and raised in Orange County, CA and currently reside in Irvine with my husband of 3 years and beloved fur-baby, Indie. I am a sensitive and empathetic soul. My vulnerability has served as my strength & purpose in caring for others and my community. For the past 10+ years, I have professionally worked in educational therapy clinics, public school settings, and private practices.

My speciality is providing individual therapy to clients in their 20s and 30s. Clients who tend to see me are young adult women who are struggling with:

  • self image
  • perfectionism,
  • relationships
  • work-related stress
  • intergenerational trauma
  • cultural duality
  • life transitions

Common symptoms include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • self doubt/imposter syndrome
  • avoidance/low motivation
  • stress
  • grief
  • guilt

Many of my clients also come from a South Asian background who find it more comfortable opening up to someone who can understand the nuances of their experiences and provide support that is culturally sensitive.

Treatment Approaches:

We will use the first few sessions to build a safe and trusting relationship with each other, review your history and personal background, and explore current symptoms. Using this information, we will move into goal setting and selecting a treatment approach from below that is uniquely tailored to you.

  • EMDR: Eye Movement & Desensitization Therapy, also referred to as EMDR, is a robustly researched and effective modality in healing trauma. EMDR is a structured approach that involves reprocessing traumatic memories using bilateral stimulation (side to side eye movements, sound, or tapping) that are associated with negative beliefs and disturbing physical sensations causing us problems in the present. Reprocessing allows the traumatic memory to be stored more adaptively, essentially leaving the past in the past while allowing for learning and positive self cognitions to occur. To learn more about EMDR therapy, click here.
  • Somatic and Experiential Therapy: Somatic (body-based) and experiential (here & now) therapy goes goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Under this treatment approach, we will invite and study our symptoms to support our healing process. The body becomes a guide into learning what needs to be expressed, felt, seen, & experienced to release trapped pain & trauma, and allow for more ease & joy.
  • Cultural Therapy: As a daughter of South Asian immigrant parents, I was raised in a household with expectations & pressures connected to my many roles as a female, daughter, sister, student, friend and later on wife and professional. I see how our external experiences throughout our lives shape our internal world, including beliefs about ourselves, how we respond to situations, & the relationship we develop with our emotions.Cultural therapy will provide you first and foremost a safe outlet to express your thoughts and feelings that you may have had to otherwise internalize for much of your life. We will focus on having you share your truth and story. I will be your guide in inviting you to connect back to your inner spirit & whole self, and uncovering your personal power.Through my professional experience working with dozens of South Asian clients over the past 2 years, I have seen how exploring our participation among situations and relationships in our lives can bring about feelings of peace & freedom. What once felt like being out of control becomes replaced with a sense of ownership, choice, autonomy, and acceptance.
  • Coaching: For clients who are mentally & emotionally well and want to focus on setting and achieving goals to improve upon their life, I can support you through unlocking & reframing limiting beliefs and exploring solutions to real or perceived barriers to the idealized version of you! I utilize Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solutions-Focused (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) therapies.
