About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

I understand how hard it can be to seek help and support, unsure of what to expect if it’s the first time you’re seeking therapy. When you come to me for counselling, I treat you as an individual who is unique with your own distinctive personal experiences but equally you will find comfort in being supported by a therapist of a similar background who has knowledge of issues surrounding the Asian community as well as the Muslim community and the conflict encompassing both culture and faith as well as several different cultures that make up your individual identity. I also have knowledge around intergenerational trauma as well as Islam and womens rights.

Majority of my work has been around mental health, domestic abuse and trauma. I work 1:1 and in a group setting providing stability and creative sessions where words cannot express feelings but can be extremely therapeutic.

I am a qualified Mizan therapist (www.nurturingheartandwomb.com) therefore I am able to integrate physical massage therapy with talking therapy. Many women tend to hold stress and trauma in their abdomen and womb. Mizan can help release and heal trauma that is stuck physiologically. Mizan can also help with period pains, PCOS, fibroids and menopause to name but a few. Often enough women also carry the trauma of mothers,  grandmothers and previous generations in their womb too-Mizan alongside counselling can help facilitate healing, empowering women to connect to their wombs and honour her.

I am also a Rewind trauma practitioner and find this to be very useful whereby the trauma is too difficult to express in words therefore allows for closure of a trauma without disclosure.

I believe in a holistic approach to counselling whereby the body, mind and soul/spirit need to be balanced in order to help us be the best version of ourselves, and I also believe that early relationships can shape our behaviours and connection with our selves and others. Some other techniques used in sessions are mindfulness, guided meditations and emotion cards to name but a few.

If you would like to explore further how I might be able to help contact me for a free 15 minute consultation.
