As a South Asian myself, I understand the impact on mental health in trying to balance western and eastern ideologies and practices. At times setting boundaries with people and explaining to others such as family members or friends on why you are choosing a certain path can be exhausting. If you are trying to balance traditional values and modern lifestyles, interpersonal relationships, or managing family expectations, I am here to support you throughout.
My therapeutic style is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to allow you to feel comfortable in sharing your past so we can work together to fulfill your goals. Through self-discovery of your past, we will develop insight which will eventually help you build upon strategies presently, to target many issues such as navigating relationships, how to tolerate distress, and stay more present with mindfulness techniques. I am fully aware that it takes a lot of courage to seek out help when you are part of a culture that have a lot of stigma around therapy however stepping into the therapeutic space will allow you to have self-compassion, become your authentic self, and take with you strategies that can help you with your daily life.
