About me

Shaila is skilled in treating learning disorders such as ADHD and ASD. Shaila has over 5 years of clinical experience working with children and adults with learning disabilities. Feeling overwhelmed and frustrated because certain things just don’t come as easy to you as they do to others is an incredibly debilitating feeling. Fighting the anxiety and depression that can develop from such debilitation is not easy. Especially when you don’t have many who can understand you or provide you with the tools you need to succeed. It’s important to work with your challenges rather than against them.

You can learn to better manage your symptoms using clinically researched interventions that are effective. As a past teacher and behaviour analyst, Shaila teaches behaviour modification skills to help clients better understand how their ‘disability’ operates. You will assess your progress to ensure treatment is moving in the desired direction.

There is a significant stigma against mental health within the South Asian communities which often acts as a barriers in familiar relationships. This barrier can be broken, it does take time, but it is possible.

Shaila has developed a unique and warm way of explaining how mechanisms in your psyche operate. Shaila also provides parent and family counselling to understand their child with learning disabilities so they can learn to manage behaviour and their own mental wellbeing. Book a consultation today to see if you are a good fit!
