About me

My name is Shahnoor Khan. I believe in creating a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and compassionate space for all my clients. I am here to meet all my clients where they are at and believe in taking a client-centered approach. Through this approach, I collaborate with my clients with a deep sense of empathy and authenticity to explore your concerns, trauma, feelings, symptoms, and much more. I also stand by taking a de-colonized approach to therapy and incorporate this into my sessions, if my clients wish.

My therapeutic approach consists of various evidence-based practices and alternative, de-colonized treatments. I believe in offering you the psycho-education and allowing you to try these various therapies until we find one that best fits your needs. This includes traditional therapy practices such as CBT, solution focused, trauma-focused, psychodynamic, and more. De-colonized options I provide are fluid and ever changing. Examples include sound therapy, reclamation, art therapy, meditation, tarot/oracle, anti-oppression, anti-racism, feminist, anti-colonial, re-framing, yoga/dance/movement, and MUCH more. If you have any questions about these treatment modalities, I am more than happy to elaborate! My goal is to provide all people with a space to become, achieve, and heal whatever it is they are seeking.

A little bit about me: I am Pakistani and am a first generation child of immigrants and understand the struggles of trying to navigate two opposite realities! I know from personal experience that trauma changes you as a person, but it can also make you incredibly resilient and I hope to have my clients reconnect with themselves and their joy despite their traumas.

I have grown up in Los Angeles and got my education here as well. I got my bachelors in sociology and gender studies at UCLA and my masters in social work at USC. I enjoy nature, community, and mindfulness! I hope we can connect and begin working on your healing journey together!
