About me

I first became aware of my counselling skills during my Mentoring & Tutoring weekly experience of supporting students with learning difficulties at Churchdown School in Gloucester from 2007-2008, while studying at the University of Gloucestershire. My commitment to the counselling subject has been extensive over the last twelve years, as I have studied levels one, two and three in counseling and attended many seminars, training days and had my own personal counselling sessions over a period of twelve months. I am qualified at Master’s level in Counselling & Psychotherapy, which was obtained in Macau S.A.R. China, where I spent nearly three years (2017-2020) studying, counselling & offering psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children from various Asian & South East Asian backgrounds.

Specialities

I offer a unique blend of therapy that covers the aspects of spiritual healing, holistic therapy & multicultural diversity. In your first session, I will conduct an intake interview, focusing on your mental, physical & family history. During therapy, I will integrate the cognitive behavioural, humanistic and psychoanalytic/dynamic methods into each session in order to create overall well-being.

I work with clients who may be struggling with depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, childhood trauma or OCD that link to family/friends or the workplace. I delve into the issues at hand, and work with you to create a plan for addressing needs in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.

The skills that I have developed from these experiences have allowed me to develop more of an in-depth understanding of counselling and psychotherapy in and out of the work-place; based on the cognitive behavioural, humanistic and psychodynamic/psychoanalytic schools of thought. I believe that my difficult upbringing and experiences of interacting/living with many people from diverse cultures and backgrounds allows me to be the ideal counsellor/therapist for any client. Being a natural philosopher and listener, I am able to think deeply, reflect, empathise and actively listen to those around me; this has been enhanced by my enthusiasm to learn more and attend workshops and training days presented by top professionals in Britain/Asia within the counselling arena.
