About me

Hello, I’m Sarah, an Integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. As a British Asian woman, born, brought up and educated in London, I have a deep-rooted, personal experience and understanding of the rich cultural diversity that exists within the South Asian community and beyond.

Sometimes life can feel difficult and speaking to friends or family is not enough. Having a therapist who understands our background and frame of reference, can be a more empowering and fulfulling experience in our journey.

I understand how the intricate layers of our cultural identities (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, class etc) can impact us by presenting challenges and conflict in many aspects of our lives. This can affect both how we feel about ourselves (self-identity) and our relationships with family, community and wider society.

I also recognise that, although we may originate from a similar part of the world, each of us is unique, with our own, individual lived experience and story. I will do my best to listen to your story, to understand and help you to navigate the complexities of your unique experiences, creating a therapeutic space that respects and embraces your individuality.

My approach

I have advanced training in Transactional Analysis (TA) therapy with an Intersectional lens. This is an Integrative model which combines several approaches (Psychodynamic, Relational, Person-centred, Humanistic and CBT therapies) and is a powerful framework that helps uncover patterns of communication and behaviour.

My approach is deeply relational – I passionately believe in the power of a strong and collaborative therapeutic relationship, and that healing begins within the safety and trust of this relationship.

What to expect

In our sessions, we will work together to identify and address the challenges you face. We can explore how your past experiences may be influencing your present, and work together to create positive change.Whether it’s navigating relationships, managing stress, or exploring your identity, my goal is to support you on your journey towards self-discovery and resilience.

Embarking on the path of self-discovery and healing is a courageous step. If you are ready to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive environment, I am here for you.

I offer an initial free 20 minute consultation.
