About me

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#15123) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. My credentials include a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. With having worked in both private and public mental health settings, I have experience working in non-profit organizations, social service agencies, and government-funded community programs. This has included providing low-barrier individual counselling for adults and youth seeking support for their substance-use, mental health, or both. I am also very passionate about group therapy and have had the pleasure of developing and facilitating different groups that have served a wide variety of clients.

My approach to counselling is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I work with both adults and adolescents on a wide range of issues. My primary areas of expertise have been with clients struggling with substance use, mental health, self-care/wellness, emotion regulation, life transitions, trauma, and abuse. However, I believe anyone can benefit from the personal growth that results from counselling.

Through my graduate studies, I am able to offer Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Psychotherapy. Moreover, I have also completed additional training in other therapeutic modalities. These include Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion.

Outside of work, I find myself energized by spending time with friends and family, travelling to different countries, watching horror movies, and trying out new restaurants. I am also passionate about photography, but only as an amateur! As a life-long learner I hope to one day return to school to pursue doctoral studies in psychology.
