About me

I am an experienced counsellor and I believe change is possible for all.

I am BACP registered and qualified as a Transactional Analysis psychotherapeutic counsellor. Having worked in the mental health sector for the last 16 years, I would describe my counselling approach as integrative, which means I use various skills and styles of therapy. This allows me to help people to explore, reflect and understand their thoughts, feeling and behaviours, holding equal light to past experiences and the here and now. I personally think this is really important as it means you can heal some of your past wounds and look to carve out a here and now experience that you want.

Below is examples of how I work;

  • Breaking down addictions – We explore what is driving you to the addiction and work towards a sense of recovery and stability.
  • Acknowledging multi-culturalism and Intersectionality – I am British born South-Asian and have an understanding of the issues faced by both 1st/2nd generation immigrants. I have worked with many people from various ethnic backgrounds and have explored the potential pressures of living within multiple cultures.
    I work with and explore the intersectionality of a person and have worked with LGBTQ+ community and neurodiverse people.
  • Transitional work – Such as a bereavement, change in relationship, work or becoming a parent. Exploring where you are currently, what you would like for your future.
    Understanding mental health conditions – I have worked for over 12 years within various mental health settings, I have experience of working with people with mental health diagnoses. Together, we make sense of your diagnosis and build an identity that is not a label.
  • Shedding light on abuse – If you have experience abuse, we work at your pace and I offer space for you to share your story.
  • Working through relationship issues – Often I find clients who are experiencing relationship issues, can be in conflict with themselves. We wouId therefore pay attention to your relationship with yourself and others to promote healthier ways of communicating.

I offer both short and long term work; the length of our work can be discussed and reviewed as and when needed. I work both online and in person. My fees are £60-65. I offer a free 20 minute consultation for us to discuss why you are seeking therapy and if we think we would work well together.

I work Tuesday-Friday, both face to face in West Bridgford, Nottingham and online.
