About me

Welcome, and thank you for taking the courageous step toward enhancing your mental well-being. It takes immense strength to seek support, and I honor your bravery! My name is Samina and I specialize in offering my services to south asian folks, as I believe that a large part of our lives is difficult to understand.

Recently, someone close to me had gone out seeking therapy and they came back and told me that “they just don’t understand” too often – I find that the unique aspects of south asian culture can be comprehensive to grasp, and while sometimes, you can be in a great position to educate a therapist on these complexities of your household and childhood, often, we want someone who just gets it.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of the unique cultural nuances that shape the experiences of South Asians. I am here to support you.

In my practice, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families, addressing a wide range of issues such as intergenerational conflict, cultural assimilation, and the pressures of academic and professional success. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where you can express yourself freely and feel truly understood.

I utilize a blend of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy, all tailored to meet your specific needs and cultural background. My approach is collaborative and person-centered, ensuring that our sessions are guided by your goals and preferences.

Together, we will explore your strengths and challenges, and work towards fostering resilience and a deeper sense of self. I invite you to begin this transformative journey with me, whether through in-person sessions or online consultations. Let’s take this step together towards achieving a more balanced and fulfilling life.
