About me

Samia Qadri recognizes that a trusting connection is central to a successful healing journey for clients. She prioritizes creating a safe and welcoming environment and embodies warmth and genuine care. Samia prioritizes clients’ well-being, recognizing the courage it takes to be vulnerable when processing difficult emotions. Finding a balance between exploring deep emotional work and equipping clients with practical skills for tangible change is at the core of Samia’s therapeutic philosophy. Samia believes therapy is a conversation that fosters growth, empowering her clients to reach their full potential.

Samia is dedicated to aligning with her clients and understanding their unique needs and aspirations for change. She is driven by a commitment to staying informed about the ever-evolving field of mental health. Samia is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which treats symptoms related to trauma.  As an avid consumer of research during her PhD studies in Counseling, Samia stays updated to ensure the best practices in her work. Drawing upon various therapeutic modalities, such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness practices, she prioritizes the individual sitting before her, attuning to their struggles, pain, and goals. Samia is a culturally competent and inclusive counselor that acknowledges the role race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation play in one’s identity. She is open to working with all clients, including individuals that are religious, spiritual, non-observing, and LGBTQ. In addition, she fluently understands Urdu-speaking individuals.  Samia acknowledges the cultural stigma of seeking mental health services for the South Asian population. Irrespective of who Samia works with, she approaches each client with lightheartedness, warmth, and authenticity.
