About me

Hi, I am Samah! I am a licensed mental health counselor, and I specialize in working with adults navigating familial conflict, relationship distress, anxiety, and interpersonal challenges stemming from childhood trauma and cultural complexities. I also have an interest in working with immigrants who are working professionals and students, building lives across cultures, and balancing dual identities. As a woman of color, I understand how cultural expectations can affect individuals and manifest as beliefs, patterns, and behaviors that may not serve us; therefore, we will navigate these concerns together in a way that allows you to uphold your cultural values while building a strong sense of self.

My goal is to help you create a sense of safety within yourself, develop the tools and skills needed to maintain that safety, and feel more comfortable identifying, expressing, and processing your emotions. I use a mix of trauma work, inner child healing, attachment theories, and CBT, along with mindfulness and different breathing tools in sessions!

My background and training are rooted in trauma-informed care through my work in foster care. I focus on understanding how childhood experiences shape our adult selves and relationships. If this approach resonates with you, I’d be happy to connect and support you in your healing journey.
