About me

As your therapist, I will cultivate a safe space for you in deeply unhappy, uncomfortable, or unfulfilled moments, to process all that challenges you. Together, we will navigate new ways for you to be able to thrive in your own resilience, creativity, and resourcefulness. We will be collaborators in your healing process, and I will maintain a flexible response to your changing needs. I believe that when you feel safe, heard, and at ease within an empathetic and understanding environment, you will be able to unburden your past suffering, and explore coping methods that work best for your present struggles.

I am an Art Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with certifications in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I practice from a client-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based and anti-oppressive framework that recognizes that we all embody creative potential that we can access for personal growth. I have experience facilitating individual and group art therapy with children, youth and adults in the Greater Toronto Area. As a South Asian immigrant to Canada, I also have experience with person-centred counselling in Pakistan. A combination of lived experience, training in art therapy and humanistic integrative counseling fuel my approach to meeting individuals where they are at.

I draw from diverse arts-based practices as I have observed that when clients connect with their inner creative resources, it can become easier for them to recognize and untangle older, ineffective patterns of being and relating. Creative engagement can allow us to see through what has been so we can imagine and embody new, more desirable futures.

I’m committed to mental health advocacy, and have a particular interest in graphic medicine, comics in therapy, digital and online creative processes, as well as traditional arts and crafts practices to guide healing.
