About me

Challenging life experiences can create difficult thoughts, feelings and sensations in our bodies such as nervousness, sadness, hopelessness, stress, restlessness and self doubt. Some of our memories and emotions may feel too heavy and burdensome to examine and manage alone. Sharing and having your story heard, understood, and empathised with in therapy can provide relief while creating space to understand yourself better.

I view therapy from a holistic perspective in that I center your values and culture as we explore goals, symptoms, and develop coping skills. Through exploration and processing, I will support and guide you in becoming more aware of how your external interactions have impacted your emotional experience. I bring mindfulness, interpersonal techniques, stress and mood management skills and will work with you to communicate your needs and preferences to improve quality of life. I draw from multicultural and client centered approaches and strive to be cognizant of sociopolitical circumstances impacting life. In my work with clients, I bring a liberatory view concerning issues related to gender, sexuality, class, race, ethnicity culture, spirituality, intergenerational trauma and so much more.

I work with adults, teenagers and young adults, especially those of BIPOC and marginalised communities. My areas of interest include management of anxiety, depression, and managing intercultural differences. As someone raised Muslim and South Asian, I am aware of mental health stigma and strive to help clients feel empowered and comfortable.
