About me

Are you exhausted with the pressures from family, community or from yourself to be the “perfect” parent? Or, are you concerned for the health of your partner or child? Our home, our culture and our family can bring us great joy and a sense of connection but also can cause us significant stress and feelings of anxiety and sadness when our hopeful vision does not seem to match expectations or our present reality.

Parenthood is universally tough, from wanting to conceive through adolescence and beyond.  Our identity and cultural influences undoubtedly play an unique role though in how we experience success and struggle for ourselves and in our children. Through our work together, it is possible to find stability and strength and ultimately create peace and happiness at home for you and your family.

As a certified perinatal therapist, I specialize in counseling for pregnancy, postpartum and other parenting issues related to parent and child health and wellness. I also enjoy working with adolescents and seek to empower all clients to use their strengths to achieve goals and build up coping skills and resilience to shape their best future.  I utilize evidence-based treatments to include interpersonal therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, always within a culturally sensitive perspective.

Serving within schools, hospitals and other social work settings for 15+ years, I respect the individual needs of each client and the great strength reaching out for support requires. I will provide a confidential, inclusive atmosphere of healing and encouragement in our work so that you may feel truly well.
