About me

Do you feel  lost, like you do not quite fit anywhere, or confused about which culture you truly belong to? You’re not alone. Typically when clients come to me, they feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges, and also by the weight of cultural dynamics. As a first-generation, South Asian therapist, I relate to the challenges that folks of minority backgrounds face and am passionate about working with marginalized folks to create positive change and enhance their inner resilience. In addition to addressing emotional stress, I attend to issues surrounding mixed identities, racial oppression and social privilege.

My work with clients is guided by Eastern and Western approaches, with a lens to intersectionality. Together we will explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, the impact of them, and how you can shift them to be healthier. You will learn specific techniques to relate differently to difficult emotions, so that these internal experiences are less intense. Your journey will be enhanced with tangible tools to use in between sessions, personalized to what will best support you. By the end of our work, you will feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges on your own and engage more deeply with the flow of life.

Ready to reconnect with life in a conscious and supportive space? Reach out to set up a free 15-minute discovery session, by emailing me at nira@siawellness.com or texting 917-719-5042. We will explore what this journey would look like for you and if this feels like a strong fit. I look forward to connecting with you.
