About me

Many people looking for therapy ask themselves, “Do I really need therapy?” I believe that everyone deserves therapy. You deserve a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space to express and explore yourself. I believe that everyone comes to therapy with their own resilience, strengths, and skills and that therapy can be a place to articulate these so you can use them more effectively, build on them, and grow in new ways with support. Whether you’ve been feeling down or anxious, frustrated with patterns in your relationships, struggling at work, or just feeling “stuck,” you can use therapy to reach your goals.

I believe that therapeutic spaces and the therapist-client relationship were not invented by Freud, but are a practice that has gone by many names in many cultures since ancient times. While I am trained in and support “evidence based practices” I am also passionate about de-colonizing therapy and creating a therapeutic space which is culturally sensitive and informed.

I specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ community as well as people in cross-cultural relationships. I am experienced in supporting clients through exploring gender identity and transition.

I use an integrative and directive approach to help you better understand how your life experiences, the world we live in, and your identities impact you while also helping you build concrete skills you can use to cope confidently, create more satisfying relationships, and develop a greater sense of meaning in life on a daily basis.

While anyone can benefit from therapy, I am also experienced in treating severe mental illness, personality disorders, thoughts of suicide, and I am passionate about and experienced in treating trauma and the struggles that result from it including PTSD. Whatever you are going through, you don’t have to go through it alone. Please feel free to reach out.

I am currently offering only teletherapy throughout New York State. In the near future I will also offer in-person therapy for those in New York City or willing to travel here, but I will always offer teletherapy for those for whom it is more convenient.

I am not accepting new clients at present.
