I founded Life Wise Counselling to support individuals and couples who are ready for change, open to embarking on their healing journey.
The vast majority of us can feel powerless to our problems, stuck in destructive patterns or challenged with negative thoughts that weigh heavy on our shoulders. Trauma shows up as fear based thinking, living in auto-pilot, people pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, impulsive behavior, insecurity, self-doubt, anxiety & depression, anxious attachment styles, PTSD and more. Healing from our lived experiences is an ever changing path, with ups and downs along the way. Personal development is not passive and requires patience, courage, commitment and connection among other things. Connection is a basic human need, necessary for cultivating growth. However, past wounds can show up in our relationships, making it difficult to reach out to loved ones.
Research shows that a strong therapeutic alliance based on respect is imperative for positive outcomes in therapy. Through conversation, you will gain perspective into your situation and behavior. You will learn to embrace your challenges and recognize triggers as agents for change. You will become accountable for your actions and learn how to respond versus automatically react to your triggers.

I draw upon a bio-psycho-social approach as I strongly believe in evidence based practices that integrate the mind-body connection. Using tools from various schools of therapy such as Mindfulness, the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Polyvagal Theory and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) you will discover how to to make more conscious choices, feel confident, and move forward with your life.
