What I love about therapy is that it’s not just a place to process severe mental health, sometimes you need someone to talk to who understands you without their own biases. Even after being a therapist for 13 years, I am enthusiastic about helping you build resilience and feel empowered. I work together with you to help you feel less anxious or depressed, communicate more effectively with family and develop more satisfying relationships.
I am a therapist who:
- Offers more solutions and does more in sessions than just listen to your problems
- Has flexible availability that works with even the busiest schedules
- Creates a safe space where you speak freely without judgment
Most of my clients are South Asian women ages 20-35 and couples. This makes our sessions interesting because we get to talk about the culture and how it impacts you. I always emphasize the importance of establishing your values, offering solutions to complex problems and supporting you emotionally. At the same time, you figure out past triggers that influence your problems today. I use techniques from Attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based approaches to help you build skills that stay with you long after you leave therapy.
I have been a therapist and an adjunct Faculty Member at Pepperdine University for almost 10 years. I have taught several clinical psychology and counseling courses. In addition to my work in clinical psychology, I have also worked in business and academic administration. I also work with a diverse team of professionals who primarily serve South Asian clients, ensuring we are providing current services aligned with the values most important to our community.
