**At this time, I am taking new clients via Telehealth only***
As we tread through life’s challenges and its ups and downs, seeking support can often feel overwhelming without trusted guidance. As you take the first steps in reaching out for help, I want to recognize and celebrate your courage and commitment towards creating positive changes in your life! Whether you have experienced deep-rooted trauma, are contemplating pieces of your identity, struggling with clashing of cultural expectations and identity development, or are coping with major life changes and transitions, I am here for you. I am dedicated towards creating a safe, warm, open, and empathetic space for us to navigate through your feelings of anger, sadness, shame, guilt, or even confusion. When we let our fears overcome our self-worth, we tend to feel self-defeated. Together, we will work to reframe these feelings that often deplete our energy and highlight the pieces that make you, YOU.
I approach counseling and implement skills and techniques from various theories, including Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Gestalt counseling. I help to strengthen your self-awareness and individuality to establish authenticity in all areas of your life. As an American-Pakistani Muslim, I have vast experience working with clients from a wide-range of experiences and background, including immigrants, first-generation Americans, and victims of domestic violence. I have a passion to connect with other South Asian individuals in the DFW area, to address the inherent struggles of being a person of color in the U.S. and learn techniques and skills to cope with the concerns of juggling multiple identities. I believe that representation is important and advocating for your mental health when intertwined with your cultural identity is at the crux of my counseling philosophy.
I see clients who experience general, social, and cultural-based anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and major life transitions. I specialize in trauma-informed counseling and working with children, adolescents and adults to face their concerns in a collaborative, encouraging, and relational manner. Appointments are available at both Mighty Oaks Counseling and Wellness and Mindful Journey Counseling and Wellness in Plano. Reach out today and let’s work together to heal.
