About me

Greetings! I am Syeda Hasnain, but you can call me Mariam. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, I am passionate about mental health and its impact on our lives. With a deep understanding of the South Asian community’s unique experiences, I strive to provide culturally sensitive therapy that fosters growth, healing, and empowerment.

I hold a B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M, and a master’s in education with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lamar University. My expertise lies in working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, including the South Asian community.

I chose this path because I wanted to diversify and expand access to quality mental health care. It brings me joy to witness the progress and growth of my clients as they navigate their unique journeys. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, and depression, as these challenges are common in our society.

Recognizing the importance of cultural competency, I provide a safe, secure, and trusting environment where South Asian clients can explore their challenges without fear of judgment. Together, we will address the unique dilemmas and experiences you face, understanding the depth and basis behind them.

I offer therapy services to individuals, couples, and families within the South Asian community. My areas of focus include Couples therapy, grief counseling, stress management, and anxiety support. I aim to guide you toward optimal mental health and stability while honoring your individuality and cultural background.

In our therapeutic relationship, I see my role as a facilitator of change, utilizing your existing strengths and strategies. Together, we will navigate the complexities of your life, empowering you to make the changes you desire. I am committed to creating a collaborative environment where you can determine the direction of your journey.

With years of experience working with diverse clients, including South Asians, I understand the nuances and challenges specific to this community. I am familiar with the intricacies of family dynamics, identity exploration, and relationship complexities within the South Asian context. I bring this expertise to our sessions as we work towards achieving your goals.

If you are ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth, I am here to support you. Please reach out to schedule a session, and together, we will strive to help you live a balanced and fulfilling life.

Remember, you don’t have to navigate your challenges alone. Through culturally sensitive therapy, we can explore your experiences, nurture your well-being, and empower you to create positive change. ??
