About me

I was born and raised in multicultural societies all my life. Living in several different countries on 3 different continents (United Arab Emirates, Canada, Pakistan, Wales and England) has given me unique knowledge about culturally adapting therapy to many different settings and cultures. It has also taught me to understand and work with many different kinds of people. Therapeutic techniques created in the past have not taken into consideration the South Asian Diaspora and this is a gap I aim to fill.  Along with my private practice, I have done volunteer work with care-leavers and people who have suffered trauma. I have an MSc in Applied Clinical Psychology from the University of Bath and have also completed a BSc Honours in Psychology. I have worked in many different industries revolving around social interaction before entering Mental Health, which has further expanded my ability to understand and communicate with people from different walks of life. I have been involved with psychology for 8 years academically, career-wise and personally. I am also a classical guitarist and have played for Harlequins Rugby Club in Abu Dhabi. I have also completed personal training courses and have experience as a personal trainer. I believe good physical health is essential for good mental health and I can also help you create an exercise plan to support your therapeutic process. I am comfortable with providing therapy in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and English.

I have been working with Malik for a couple of months now. He’s approachable, respectable, well organised but most importantly very insightful. He has a calm manner yet leads sessions well. I have never left a session with Malik, not feeling thankful for his help. He is very easy to talk and to build a trusting relationship with, something which is invaluable when looking for a therapist. Highly recommended.

Working through a lot of difficult issues with Malik has been extremely fruitful. Malik is professional and considerate. He has fostered a great environment which has created a really transparent and safe place within our therapy sessions. I have benefited greatly from the culturally sensitive approach taken by Malik, which was not explored with other therapists which really inhibited how much I could progress with them. As well as other issues, dealing with cultural problems has been a running theme through out my life and Malik has really helped me get through this. I have been able to make practical and effective changes in the last few months thanks to our therapy sessions.

I would highly recommend getting in contact with him.

Very Professional..Malik has been exceptionally understanding and honest, which has been quite refreshing and helped me take a new perspective on things. Takes time to listen and evaluate what I say and always follows up. He has been very flexible about timings. Also being able to communicate in my mother tongue has been a great advantage. All in all, experience has been highly rewarding.
    Highly recommended..

Very well mannered and professional. I have been receiving online therapy for a better part of 6 months from Mr. Rezzi and he has been very helpful and very attentive with his psychodynamic approach.
He has helped me deal with many underlining psychological issues that i had carried for many years and i was oblivious to such issues.
    10 out 10 would recommend
