About me

Finding a therapist who understands your world and not just your symptoms changes everything.

You don’t need to explain yourself here. Not the weight of family expectations. Not the particular loneliness of being between two worlds. Not the exhaustion of code-switching every single day, or the grief of leaving home that nobody quite has a word for.

You already live it. I do too.

I’m Maitreyi, a bicultural, first-generation settler and Registered Clinical Counsellor based in British Columbia. I work from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens because I know that so much of what we carry isn’t a personal failing. It’s history. It’s systems. It’s being asked to assimilate while also being told you never quite belong.

My practice is grounded in anti-oppressive and decolonizing frameworks because I believe our mental health cannot be separated from our history. I don’t ask you to be more resilient. I ask what your pain is actually responding to.

I offer sessions in English, Hindi, and Bengali, and I bring lived experience alongside clinical training in EMDR and trauma-informed care.

If you’ve been waiting for a therapist who genuinely gets it — you’ve found one.
