About me

Welcome! My name is Krishna Desai, and I am a Licensed Psychologist (LP) and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in Dallas, Texas. I work with children as young as ten, adolescents, and adults from a variety of backgrounds. While my primary area of specialty includes the use of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), I also incorporate multicultural and family systems perspectives, an overall integrative psychological approach. My primary focus and training is specialized in anxiety, depression, transitionary phases, and parent consultation work for a variety of emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties. I additionally value work surrounding multiculturalism, diversity, identity formation, and self-esteem.

I view my role primarily as a collaborator in your journey. I am curious to learn about your experiences, which shape your perspective. I also value relationships, transparency within them, and the ability to grow comfortable enough to offer my reactions and perhaps challenge you towards growth and change. With compassion, empathy, and humor, I hope to create a space that is safe and welcoming, a space where you can explore the changes in your life that you are committed to creating.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.A. in Psychology, and then earned my doctoral degree from the APA-accredited School Psychology Graduate Program at Texas Woman’s University. While I completed my training within a variety of school settings, I subsequently completed my postdoctoral fellowship within a private practice setting. Much of my initial professional experiences within schools, where I provided therapy and assessments for children and adolescents with a variety of diagnoses, provided me with the opportunity to collaborate and consult with several providers and professionals within a student’s world. I continue to value such collaborative efforts and am happy to provide consultation surrounding educational planning and related services.
