About me

I believe healing happens in engaging the particularities of our stories. My goal in therapy is to hold compassionate space for your story; and to encourage you to look at it with new eyes. Whether you’re working on relationships, work or personal growth I offer a holistic, integrative approach with a focus on your goals and preferences. I am passionate about the impacts of relational-trauma on our brains and behavioural patterns. The IFS model purports that we have ‘no bad parts’; in other words, many of the behaviours we look down on were at one point adaptations to life’s challenges. My main methods integrate emotion-focused, person-centred, internal family systems (IFS), cognitive and attachment based theories.

My approach is culturally sensitive and trauma informed. I believe a compassionate, non-judgemental space to examine our challenges can propel us forward to a more fulfilled life.

If you are curious about therapy or interested in working with me, I encourage you to reach out for a consultation. We can discuss what brings you to therapy, whether we might be a good fit and other expectations, fees and scheduling.

I am currently accepting new clients for virtual and phone sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Email is the best way to reach me for a consult at koushikulapsychotherapy@gmail.com.
