Taking the very first step in seeking therapy can be difficult, stress-inducing, and overwhelming, great job in taking this first step! As a therapist, I believe that everyone has the internal capacity to bring positive changes in their lives. I utilize strengths-based approach which seeks to capitalize on your internal strengths, even if your strengths may not be readily apparent to you at the start of our work. I’m invested in supporting you to access everything you need to create the life you long for and achieve the things that are important to you. I strive to create a safe, open, and warm environment for my clients.
I offer care that fits with your needs along with evidence-based practices and interventions. Models of therapy that I have used with clients include Eye—Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapies, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach suitable for each individual and situation. My approach is embedded in person-centered, 2SLGBTQ+ affirmative, feminist based and anti-oppressive framework.
I bring over 7 years of experience working with adolescents, children, families, and adults. I have extensive experience working with various mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, stress related disorders, anger management and post-immigration challenges. Additionally, I have specialized training in working with individuals who have experienced developmental trauma, abuse, and grief in their lives. I am fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
I enjoy and look forward to seeing my clients feel hopeful, heal from emotional pain, and start believing in themselves. It’s a privilege to do what I do because, my clients trust me with their vulnerabilities and it’s something I can never take for granted. I really enjoy being a catalyst for change and helping people transform their lives by guiding them through their challenges and empowering them to succeed.
In my spare time, I like to hike, spend time on a beach reading a book or walking, spending time with friends and family. Meditation is an integral part of my life.
