I am committed to providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based therapy to my clients. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where clients are empowered to take an active role in their healing process. If you are seeking support for your mental health, I would be honored to work with you.
Culturally-sensitive therapy: As a South Asian therapist, I understand the unique cultural norms, values, and beliefs that are important to my clients. I work to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their concerns and develop strategies that are culturally relevant and sensitive to their needs.
Multicultural counseling: In addition to my expertise in South Asian cultures, I have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+. I am committed to understanding the intersection of culture, race, gender, and other factors that influence my clients' experiences, and using this knowledge to guide our work together.
Trauma-informed therapy: Many South Asian clients have experienced trauma related to migration, displacement, and other factors. I use a trauma-informed approach to therapy, which recognizes the impact of trauma on clients' lives and helps them develop coping skills, build resilience, and heal from their experiences.
Mindfulness-based therapy: Mindfulness is a practice that originated in South Asia and has been used for centuries to promote well-being. I incorporate mindfulness techniques into my therapy sessions to help clients develop awareness of their thoughts and emotions, cultivate self-compassion, and reduce stress and anxiety.
Family therapy: In South Asian cultures, family is often considered a central value. I work with families to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships. I am sensitive to the unique dynamics that exist within South Asian families and work to create a supportive and collaborative environment for all family members.
