We have all had moments where we felt we needed someone to speak to. Deciding to start therapy can be one of the hardest and bravest steps to take, and I applaud you for doing so. As your counselor, I will strive to help you reach the clarity you may be seeking, and guide you through your problems.
I like to use a person-centered approach, meaning my priority will always be your welfare and health. I also like to cultivate an environment where my patients can lead the session with whatever they want to discuss or whichever goals they want to work on that week, as I provide them with guidance and clarity on their problems. The more you bring to therapy, the more you get out of it, so I encourage my patients to express themselves freely.
My focus areas include but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, relationship issues, adjustment issues.
As a South Asian woman, I also strive to create a safe space for South Asians as well, as cultural stigmas may often make it difficult to seek therapy. If you need someone to talk to in a judgement-free environment, I would be glad to work with you.
