Hi, I’m Harjindar, my pronouns are she/her/hers. I specialize in working with adult children of immigrants, young adults ages 16-25, and people working in social justice, helping and healing professions. My practice centers South Asian Americans and welcomes folks from the diaspora including those who identify as Indo-Fijian and Indo-Caribbean.
I’m a relational psychotherapist with anti-oppression and trauma informed practices. My style is warm, open, gentle and consent driven. I blend somatic (body based) practices and mindfulness skills with relational and attachment theory. In practice this means exploring life experiences which have shaped your relationship to self and others. I guide you in identifying body sensations, emotions and thoughts to understand how previous stressors are held in the body and to identify resources to move towards the growth you desire.
As a social worker with over 20 years of experience I have a deep commitment towards social justice. In my clinical perspectives I strive to undo anti-blackness, white supremacy, patriarchy, heteronormativity, capitalism and systems of oppression.
I invite you to visit my website to learn more about me, how I practice and how I can support you in experiencing more joy and fulfillment in your life.
(Please note that I do not accept insurance, however, I can provide you with a superbill for reimbursement.)
