About me

*****ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS – VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON******

I am constantly in awe of any South Asian person who makes the decision to start focusing on their mental health.  Growing up in a culture that is obsessed with how others perceive us along with the general stigma related to mental health care, you’re fighting against your ingrained beliefs and I’m here for it.

It’s overwhelming to look for a therapist and find one that you click with.  Often times, it takes a few tries, but please don’t give up! The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors to success in therapy.  It is my hope that I can convey to you below my passion and excitement to help my fellow South Asian brethren live a life that they were truly meant to live.

I obtained my Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University and have 18 years experience working with adolescents and young people in child protection, residential treatment and educational settings.  My practice has focused on helping clients cope with academic or work stress; irritability and aggression; social anxiety; lack of motivation and productivity; procrastination; panic attacks; difficulty with sleep; and other behaviours consistent with anxiety and depression.

My expertise in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can provide valuable insight and practical tools that allow a person to improve their life in the ways they choose.

I am fiercely committed to a transparent and collaborative therapy approach, meshing your life expertise with my knowledge of evidence based clinical practices. I have been trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and I utilize these from a Strength Based and Trauma Informed Perspective.

In the therapy space, I will meet you where you are at in your self-discovery journey. I will help you work on what you feel is getting in the way of your vibrant and balanced self. I have a proven capacity to develop a strong working relationship. We will work….but we will also laugh, cry and you will feel seen and heard.
