About me

I am a licensed therapist in the states of CA and PA offering couple, family, and individual therapy. I mostly work with adults however enjoy working with preteens/teens as well!

A little about me РI am a first-generation Afghan-American, Muslim, queer femme and the oldest daughter/grand-daughter in my family. The work of healing holds tremendous importance in my life. It has allowed me to unburden myself from limiting, unrealistic, patriarchal, and racist notions/misconceptions that I grew up with and internalized. This process of unburdening is on-going and perhaps life-long, however, it has offered me spaciousness to pause, reflect, connect with myself and others, and make intentional decisions about my life/future. In short, I know that I have options, and can lead a life of my choosing that feels right and supports my well-being both individually and in community with others. This is what I work  towards with clients.

More specifically, my framework is holistic/systemic, decolonial, trauma-informed, intersectional feminist, and somatic. My work with clients is insight-oriented and thus explores the past (sociocultural, intergenerational) while making meaning of present experiences/relationships. I work collaboratively with clients and fully support and respect client autonomy.
