Before my career as a therapist, I was a humanitarian aid worker, supporting efforts to alleviate the suffering of those facing adversity around the world. My turn to the field of psychotherapy was informed by the restorative effect I witnessed of genuine human connection, acceptance, and trust for individuals, no matter the context.
I am licensed to work with individuals in DC and and work primarily with adults. I am a holistic practitioner with training and experience in the use of a number of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other somatic-based therapies. I have significant experience supporting clients with traumatic experience/stress, depression, anxiety, grief, attachment wounds, relationship issues, stage of life transition issues, low-self worth, and cross-cultural challenges.
Believing emotional safety and connection are requirements for healing and growth, I strive to provide a trusting and respectful space for those I work with to feel secure in exploring and expressing all parts of themselves.
