About me

I have a doctorate and am licensed marriage and family therapist with over 15 years of experience. I do not believe in reducing people to a ‘diagnosis’, instead, yearn to look beyond the presenting symptoms and complaints others generally present with. I focus on the individual “wholistically”, that is, emphasizing and respecting that each person is a product of his/her unique family life, culture, emotions and spirit. The symptoms a person seeks to heal in therapy does not fully

define him/her and is not the whole picture. I provide a warm, genuine and caring environment to safely discuss and explore the issues and unique story one presents with.
I have experience working with drug and alcohol addiction and view addiction as an attempt one makes to ease deep emotional pain and seek inner fulfillment. Addiction is the external manifestation and a longing for one searching for a deeper life purpose.

My experience further extends to working with people struggling with their moods (depression, anxiety), thoughts, behaviors or life situations such as being stigmatized due to personal lifestyle choices that are condemned by society. I have worked with people presenting with traumatic symptoms of PTSD, abuse, chronic illness or other stresses that hinder an authentic relationship with themselves and others.

Currently specialize in trauma work through EMDR and Sandplay Therapy.
