About me

We all want to feel seen, heard, valued. No matter our individual backgrounds, our lives replay the human experiences of loss, joy, hurt. Arriving at a deeper understanding of these embodied experiences helps us connect more deeply and compassionately to ourselves and to the world. Therapy can help us feel witnessed, nurture our humanity, and aid us in living our most authentic selves.

I work with individuals and couples, with expertise in helping clients navigate relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, and LGBTQ+ concerns. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and social justice-driven. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 1), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Level 1), Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT Levels 1 & 2), mindfulness, and Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT). I draw from a range of modalities including psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Hakomi, somatic therapy, narrative therapy, and ecotherapy. I tailor my collaborative and client-centered approach to meet the unique needs of each client in a space of empathetic warmth, openness, and cultural humility.

My educational background includes an MFA in poetry and fiction from the University of Maryland, a PhD. in literature and creative writing from the University of Houston, and a Master of Social Work from Columbia University. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in Texas currently working on obtaining full licensure.

I am shaped by my relationships to and reverence for the people, creatures, and lands to which I am inextricably connected. My multiple identities—therapist, poet, teacher, student, settler, activist, mother, partner, daughter…—inform and enrich my work. I am invested in helping you arrive at a deeper and loving understanding of yourself in the process of working towards your vision for your life and how you would like to live it. In our work together, nothing is more important than your story and how you understand it and wish to shape it; it is my privilege to guide and support your journey of living it.
