About me

As a female counselling psychologist of South Asian heritage, I understand that our emotional wellbeing can be shaped not only by our individual experiences, but also by our culture, family, relationships, faith and the expectations we carry. I support adults with a range of difficulties, such as life transitions, anxiety, grief and loss, issues around faith and spirituality, low mood and self-esteem. I have a keen interest in attachment, trauma and neurodivergence. As a practitioner, I would describe my style as warm and empathic, and my aim is that you feel seen, heard and empowered to navigate your choices.

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, adapting these to each person. I bring a culturally sensitive approach to therapy, so that it feels inclusive and relevant to you. I am mindful that many psychological theories and therapeutic models have developed within Western contexts, and may not always reflect the experiences, values or ways of understanding distress that are meaningful to you. I therefore consider factors such as family dynamics and wider social influences alongside your individual experiences. I also remain mindful of my own identities and how these may inform the therapeutic relationship.

I see clients online across the UK and, where appropriate, internationally. I offer a free initial telephone consultation of up to 15 minutes, during which we can discuss any questions you may have and whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. I would be happy to hear from you and learn more about what you are looking for.
