I am a South London Based Clinical Psychologist of South Indian heritage. Having immigrated to the UK as a teenager from Asia, I am aware of the importance of having people in our lives who make space to think about the different identities we hold and the challenges of living in a culture where the dominant societal values may be different to the ones we were raised with. As such my work is centred on compassion, sensitivity and acceptance of difference.
My psychological practice is shaped by liberation and critical community psychology, and I draw on systemic thinking, story telling, and art to support people to make sense of the distress they may be experiencing. I specialise in working with people who are experiencing low mood, anxiety, shame, self-criticism, identity issues, race based trauma and relational difficulties.
In order for you to fully benefit from psychological therapy, it is important to find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable, respected, and understood. It may not be possible to fully get a sense of a person from reading their online profiles. That is why I offer a free 30 minute phone or online consultation in which we can get a sense of each other. It will also give you an opportunity to talk about your expectations for therapy and I can answer any questions you have about the process.
If you are considering therapy then do get in touch to discuss your requirement and explore the possibility of us working together.
