About me

CURRENTLY OFFERING ONLINE SESSIONS.

Gursharan works in a collaborative and person-centred way, offering a safe space for clients to explore their difficulties as well as find hope, feel empowered and discover what is meaningful for them.

She has over 15 years’ pre and post qualifying experience of working and training in our invaluable NHS, across mental health and social care settings. Her clinical training means that she has worked across the life span spectrum from children, working age adults, to adults in later life, who experience a range of psychological & physical need.

Since qualifying, Gursharan has specialised in the field of Child & Adolescent Mental Health, also known as CAMHS. She currently holds a senior part-time position in the NHS working alongside social care colleagues to help young people and families, those who are often marginalised in society and have experienced significant traumas and complex mental health. Her approach involves both working individually with children and young people, family based approaches and parenting. The other half of her role is devoted to offering a service in private practice, which focuses on helping Children and Families as well as Adults who require individual therapy.

Gursharan’s specialties are in working with a range of mental health difficulties and often a combination of: Anxiety, Anger difficulties, Bereavement/loss, Childhood/developmental trauma, Confidence/Self-esteem, Depression, Life and role transitions, Neurodevelopmental conditions, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma, Obsessions and Compulsions, Relationship anxieties/insecurities and Parental/family difficulties. She views these difficulties arising within the context of a person’s lived experience, seeing them in a holistic way and understanding their story.

Being a Clinical Psychologist, she is highly trained in a number of different therapeutic modalities which are evidence based (for example, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Systemic/Family based therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic approaches etc). Rather than use a ‘one size fits all’ approach, Gursharan adapts and tailors therapeutic approaches so that therapy is suited to the needs of the individual.

If you have any questions or want to know more, Gursharan offers a free 15 minute telephone consultation and all consultations and sessions are completely confidential.
