About me

I’m Daisy, a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist with over a decade of experience working across NHS and private healthcare settings. I offer a warm, collaborative therapeutic space where clients can feel genuinely seen and understood, with their cultural identity recognised as an important part of their story.

As someone of mixed Sri Lankan and English heritage, my own experience of navigating multiple cultures has shaped both who I am and how I practise. I understand first-hand the complexities of the diaspora experience, intergenerational expectations, code-switching and the challenges and richness of living between cultures. Whether you feel deeply connected to your roots, disconnected from them, or somewhere in between, I recognise that culture and belonging can have an impact on wellbeing and deserve a space within therapy.

My experience is broad and spans a range of NHS services, including Psychosis, Older Adult Mental Health, Crisis Services, Learning Disability, CAMHS, Long COVID and Workplace Wellbeing. Alongside my professional expertise, my own experience of living with chronic illness has deepened my understanding of the uncertainty, loss, resilience and adjustment that often accompany long-term health conditions. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation of how mental health intersects with identity, family, physical health and the wider systems and cultures we live within.

My practice is integrative and tailored to each client. My training includes Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), the Morrow Method of Phased Trauma Recovery for complex PTSD (cPTSD), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy and somatic approaches.

Alongside my clinical work, I am Co-Director of MindShift, a psychology-led consultancy that partners with organisations to strengthen culture, wellbeing and performance. This reflects my belief that psychological health is shaped not only by individual experiences but also by the workplaces, communities and systems we are part of.

I welcome clients who may have found it difficult to seek support in the past, whether because of stigma, not feeling understood or not having found the right therapeutic fit. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe, understood and empowered to explore the challenges you are facing and where healing and meaningful change feel possible.

I am currently accepting new clients through Birch Therapy Clinic. I offer a free 15-minute initial phone consultation, which can be arranged via email.
