Born and raised in India, I am a first-generation Indian living in the US for twenty years. I realize the importance of finding a therapist from one’s own cultural background who would understand and respect your values and belief system. Apart from counseling individual adults, I also provide therapy for couples on navigating relationship issues, divorce, and co-parenting. I offer family therapy on issues arising from acculturation that may be causing a rift between the parents and teenage or adult kids because of contrasting religious and family values and the western culture. Counseling can help bridge this gap. Building a meaningful therapeutic relationship is the foundation of my counseling practice. I utilize a multicultural framework to help individuals cultivate self-confidence, self-healing, and self-acceptance. I also speak Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu and am comfortable conducting sessions in these languages.
I offer counseling therapy from a holistic perspective that considers the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. My passion is to help people who want to explore spirituality and, in the process, understand their purpose and meaning of life because I believe we are all spiritual beings here to live meaningful lives. My knowledge about reincarnation and the law of karma forms the lens and aids me to discern the current life challenges one is going through.
I tend to lean towards existential, meditation, and mindfulness-based modalities. I provide a safe, caring, and non-judgmental environment to explore your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors to gain insight. Since every individual is unique, I customize our sessions to address your specific needs. My approach is genuine, warm, and validating. I offer tools to help you create a lasting change. I believe you can live a life of fulfillment and purpose, and I can help you get there.
