About me

“Safety, fundamental to healing, is often found by seeing oneself reflected in the therapeutic space.”

Hi! I’m Bushra (she/her/hers). As a child of immigrant Desi parents, I understand the stigma and shame attached to therapy. Being familiar with a culture that often silences and invalidates experiences of trauma, I firmly believe that everyone deserves to live a life that is free of violence and that therapy is one way to heal and break intergenerational trauma.

I offer support that is compassionate, inclusive, and cognizant of cultural norms and expectations. Whether you are looking for a supportive environment where you can process trauma, going through changes, experiencing a crisis, or simply feeling unhappy with life and are unsure why, I’m here to offer guidance and support through the process.

I will work with you to provide support in exploring your identity, claiming your truth, being and accepting your authentic self (including your body), developing healthy ways of coping, regulating emotions, and honoring and building your strengths.

My approach to therapy is anti-oppressive, holistic, feminist, and intersectional. I am passionate about social justice and creating a safer, equitable, and inclusive future. I recognize that agency and resiliency are connected to a client’s multitude of identities and work collaboratively with clients to nurture a safe space that serves as a catalyst for healing.

I utilize an electic approach in therapy, drawing from ACT, TF-CBT, narrative therapy, the brain/body connection, and unconditional positive regard. Clients are the experts of their lives and I work alongside them to determine which approach works best for their unique needs. I firmly believe that therapy is a collaborative effort in which clients have choice and are encouraged to self-advocate.

I’m glad you are on the journey toward better mental health and I would be honored to embark on that journey with you. I currently offer remote teletherapy sessions so please feel free to reach out to for a complimentary consultation.
