About me

I am a nationally certified and licensed graduate professional counselor in Washington, D.C. I was born in New Delhi, India, completed my undergraduate degree from Canada and recently graduated from Johns Hopkins with a degree in Mental Health Counseling. My philosophies are, therefore, constructed through my professional experiences in diverse clinical milieus as well as lived experiences in varied cultural settings. These opportunities have equipped me with the curiosity and sensitivity to view human beings as complicated and nuanced individuals with many parts and facets to explore and enjoy.

With the ultimate goal of wellness, I will assist individuals and couples suffering from issues of the past all the way to problems in daily functioning. Through a collaborative approach, we can explore, discuss, challenge thoughts and feelings, and create goals. I like to pay attention to patterns and look to understand a person’s full story before examining the issue that brings them in.

I sincerely believe that we are a rich tapestry of our experiences, interpersonal relationships, and intergenerational wisdom. My view of therapy is reflected in my practice of using third wave CBT approaches (ACT & DBT) as well as systemic approaches that are holistic and eclectic. Additionally, I am passionate about social advocacy and strive to conduct my practice through values of cultural and racial sensitivity.

If you have been thinking about receiving help, you are not alone, and the healing can begin now!
