Avneet is AMAZING. I never imagined being about to talk to someone without having to explain the culture of being a Sikh, Punjabi woman. I am able to completely be myself around her without fear of judgement. She often gives me space to let out everything on my mind and then uses her amazing strategy of tough love to help me push through it. I’m grateful to have her as my therapist!

I have been seeing Avneet for about a month and she has really changed my life. I decided to start therapy recently and initially started talking to a non-Asian therapist but it was not helping. They did not understand brown family dynamics and I found myself spending more time explaining South Asian society and family dynamics rather than getting help. I found Avneet on southasiantherapists.org and she has been excellent! She understands the difficulties of a being the eldest and only daughter in an Asian household and the pressures that come with it. She’s super easy to talk to, a great listener, and she challenges and guides me towards finding solutions. Could not recommend her more!

I recently started seeing Avneet and she has been amazing! I have tried therapy with another therapist prior to her but it was not the same. I often found myself holding back or having to explain the intricacies of the South Asian society and culture which served as a huge roadblock for getting the help I needed. I am able to connect with Avneet as she made me feel comfortable to open up from day one. I appreciate her direct approach to challenging my not-so constructive ways of thinking. And after life doing a complete 180 during the pandemic, I could not imagine not having a therapist by my side to get me through this difficult time like Avneet. She has truly been a massive help with managing and bettering my mental health!

I’ve been seeing Avneet for over a month now, and I honestly haven’t felt more comfortable in my skin before. She’s helped me with coping mechanisms that don’t trigger my anxiety and push me into spiraling and closing my self out. With her help, I’ve been able to be the best version of myself for me, and those around me. I look forward to our weekly sessions and applying all the learnings to my day-to-day lives! Growing up in a Brown household, it was important to me that I had a Brown therapist who would understand the values and fundamentals of our culture to help me repair and strengthen my relationship with my family, and Avneet has helped me with this in the short period of time. She pushes me to challenge myself and grow from my fears and use my strengths to be the best person I can be. I highly recommend Avneet to those looking to join therapy but don’t know where to start. She’s easy to talk to and absolutely a blessing!
