Hello!! Welcome to my therapy practice. I’m Arshiya (Ari) a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University and my undergraduate degree in neuroscience and psychology from University of Toronto. I have developed a passion for mental health through my personal, academic and professional experiences.
I began my career with behavioural therapy fostering the development of functional skills and emotional fluency in children, youth and adults with developmental disorders. Since then, I have found a passion working with youth and young adults with a variety of psychological issues such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, mood disorders and cultural challenges.
My passion for therapy developed from a very young age. Growing up as an immigrant in a South Asian family, speaking about mental health was often overlooked/forbidden. With this, I wanted to break the stigma around mental health not only for my community but for every individual experiencing their journey of life, at their own pace.
As a therapist, I value individualizing sessions to clients’ needs, using mixed modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy and culturally competent strategies. I am passionate about developing a safe, nurturing and collaborative relationship with all my clients.
