About me

Hi, my name is Ameepurva and I am a qualified, registered, Psychotherapeutic couple and individual Transactional Analysis counsellor

Whatever brings you to therapy, I can offer you a safe confidential setting for you to express and work through your emotions in a non-judgemental atmosphere. I work either short or long term, depending on what brings you to therapy and we can clarify what your needs are at our first session, and depending on what you want to achieve, we can aim to set a plan to achieve these results and get the help you need.

My clinical work as a counselor has been in a diverse range of settings from NHS IAPT services to working in bereavement, addiction, pre and postnatal, and mental health settings.

From my historic training and ongoing professional development, I have taken into account my clients’ needs and personal beliefs. Being mindful that my relational style of work is sensitive to your culture and traditions.

I have experience working with a wide range of complex issues, be it in individual or group settings, from private practice to working in the charitable sector.
This has helped my clinical work, by providing me with the knowledge, understanding, and skills needed to relate to people from a range of cultural and social backgrounds. It has also raised my awareness of the factors that may impact a person’s experience of mental health problems.

Where I can, I utilise my language skills and ‘mother tongue to support clients if it’s applicable, which also helps to make the connection fluid. I embrace a relational orientation with a particular interest in cultural and intergenerational trauma.  I am personally interested in the interaction between culture and therapeutic experience.

I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy which is set out by the BACP, I am fully insured and I receive regular clinical supervision from highly experienced and industry-leading Clinical Supervisors.

I offer individuals and couples short-term (6-12 week) and open-ended long-term sessions, in person or via encrypted video-call in 50-minute sessions. Feel free to contact me for additional information.
