About me

Alka Chaudhary is a Mental Health Counselor who sees therapy as a place where people come to summon the courage to open their minds and reorganize everything accumulated in it. She sees her role as helping you to dust off what used to shine, clear out clutter that no longer serves you and helping you to build new supports.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Alka was dancer and occasional choreographer who took joy in using her art to connect and contribute to her community. As a therapist she believes that creativity is not just a hobby, it’s a coping skill you can hone to help you understand, express, and make meaning of painful emotions. She believes that forming authentic relationships with her clients helps them elicit their own intrinsic motivation so that they can make make lasting changes. Alka uses an integrative approach that draws upon her background with evidence-based treatments such as Motivational Interviewing (MI) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through a person-centered lens.
