About me

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Aleeza Mohamed (she/her), a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I have been providing therapy services to adult clients in Calgary and the surrounding areas since 2011.

Aleeza S. Mohamed Psychological Services is a community mental health practice in Calgary, Alberta, located in the vibrant neigbourhood of Bridgeland. I provide therapy services that are evidence based and are informed by culturally sensitive and anti-oppressive practices.

There is a wealth of research showing that your relationship with your therapist is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes in therapy. That’s why before we dive into anything else, I make it a priority to take the time to get to know you, understand what matters to you, and to create a space where you feel safe and comfortable enough to share your concerns with me. Seeking help for your mental health is a big and vulnerable step to take and I consider it a privilege to hear your story and share in your journey towards personal growth and wellness.

More About Me

I have been a fully Registered Psychologist in Alberta since 2013 and earned my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at McGill University. I provide individual therapy services to clients over the age of 18. Services are available in person or via a secure telehealth platform. I am licensed to practice across the province of Alberta and am happy to provide telehealth services to those outside the Calgary area.  Based on my training and experience, my area of focus is Women’s Mental Health.

I believe that treatment should always be geared towards you as a unique individual. I approach all clients from an individualized perspective, however; the overarching models that inform my work are Emotion Focused Therapy. Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I also tend to frequently incorporate mindfulness practices and somatic work into my sessions. I strongly believe in equality within the client-therapist relationship and while I may have some valuable tools and perspectives to share with you, I view my role as walking along side of you as we determine your goals and work together towards the changes and solutions you want to see.
